Staff Accountant

SUMMARY:

Reviewing and maintaining general ledger accounts for Corporate and all retail stores to prepare for month end close.

DUTIES:

  • Assist in physical inventory reconciliation for wholesale and retail.
  • Assist with month end close including journal entries and account analysis.
  • Assist with property tax filings & business license renewals.
  • Assist in preparing of monthly, quarterly and yearly regulatory reporting. Emphasize in sales tax preparation.
  • Assist in preparation of fixed assets depreciation, addition, transfer and disposal.
  • Analyze daily sales for retail stores.
  • Assist in reviewing cost sheet and price variances.
  • Support the department and CFO in matters relating to financial analysis, audit and taxes.

EDUCATION &/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from a four-year US University.
  • A minimum of 2 years hands on accounting experience.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Special Skills:

  • MS Office (Outlook, Excel, and Word); Advance knowledge of Excel including high level proficiency of Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP
  • High level of accuracy and detail oriented
