MAIN JOB OBJECTIVE

The Manager of Financial Planning and Business Analytics will be responsible for supporting the Financial Planning and Business Analytics team.  This person will consolidate monthly financial results, play a critical role in operating expense forecasting, and create critical financial reporting, forecasting tools and performance dashboards to enhance performance visibility and accountability across the organization.  This person will be instrumental in creating the new business analytics function we are building at James Perse which will support finance and all operating areas of the business, including retail, E-Commerce, Wholesale and key functional areas.  This role will have broad exposure to all aspects of finance and operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Budget and Forecast

  • Build and maintain a financial forecasting model in excel
  • Consolidate monthly changes to revenue and opex forecasts to update financial forecast monthly
  • Revise forecasts mid-month to create monthly performance estimates
  • Own dissemination of monthly operating expense forecasts to department owners
  • Build tools to provide visibility into summary operating expense and payroll performance
  • Own payroll forecast
  • Own management of retail store forecasting and coordination between various owners of spend (facilities, payroll, supplies)

Reporting and Analysis

  • Build executive financial reporting package
  • Execute monthly reporting of financial performance
  • Partner with planning to create refine forecasting tools
  • Build reporting tools / dashboards / summaries to support: (i) Weekly DTC Meeting (ii) E-Commerce daily performance (iii) Retail store dashboards (iv) performance marketing summaries (v) customer cohort analytics among others

 

PRINCIPAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED

Education &/ or Work Experience: 

  • A bachelor’s degree (BS or BA) from a four-year college or university with a business, economics or math concentration.
  • Minimum 2-5 years experience working within corporate finance, investment banking or consulting

Qualifications:

  • High level of analytical understanding and competency
  • Thorough understanding of the budgeting and forecasting process
  • High quality of work product (data integrity, accuracy and presentation)
  • Understanding and proficiency working with financial statements, income statement, balance sheet, cash flow
  • Strong communication skills
  • Extensive experience with excel and proficiency with complex excel commands
  • High level of ownership and accountability
  • High sense of urgency, able to effectively manage multiple priorities at once
  • Financial modeling skills preferred
  • Tableau experience preferred
  • Qlikview and or other BI tool experience preferred
